Ohio's Dan Curtin [Metamorphic Records] delivers two diverse interpretations of “Tighter My Grip”. His first ‘”Track mix” is more in keeping with his recent stripped down productions on Tuning Spork, with a sharply produced linear reworking which focuses in on the original tracks vocals and shimmering synth riff. His second “string” mix sees him turn in another of his signature Techno-Funk classics, as only Dan Curtin knows how. Long standing D1 collaborator Mark Broom, effortless as always, rearranges “Phoenix” into two pulsating 4/4 grooves, with the originals haunting string line riding on top throughout both. Again, as with recent D1 releases, this is strictly limited vinyl run.
