Rob Rowland

An effusive and infectious fan of music, Rob’s production brims with personality, marking him out as one of Ireland’s most distinctive and prolific techno producers. Rowland began producing in 1995, supplying D1 Recordings with their first release; to date he has had eight releases with the label. While the force of funk and disco is most definitely with him, notably on his Bombjack outings, including the jumping Top Pixel Action EP, the Mark Broom remix of his track Point Monster highlighted the eerie overtone of the original that belies his swashbuckling person. Look deeper again and other early releases such as the Long Distance EP feel coolly detached. Setting up his own imprint in 2000, the Freestate releases teased with distilled epics that quickly sold out.
